LINGUAFRANCA
the voice of language beyond languages
Transnational literary agency Linguafranca was founded between Paris and Viareggio in October 2017. Since October 2025, the Board members have been Marianne Corvellec (Chair), Laura Toppan (Secretary), Monique Calinon (Treasurer), and Fulvio Caccia (Co-founder).
This group carries out four types of activities: analysis, literary events, literary translation, and publishing. It brings together authors, translators, and researchers coming from a variety of backgrounds, in order to foster the emergence and growth, through collaboration, of a multifaceted transnational space of deliberation and creative writing. Its initiatives include translation and intermediary services, as well as the organization of festivals, conferences, seminars, readings, and writing workshops. In today’s era of AI and literature 2.0, its unique feature lies in the attention it pays to the text, to restore and restate its authentic voice across languages.
By promoting multilingualism and transnational literature, Linguafranca wants to bring to life a humanistic and inclusive political conscience, seen as a starting point for genuine diversity in a context of globalization and cultural standardization.
Our transnational literary agency is structured as an association under French law. It is therefore made up of members. The condition for becoming a member is co-optation and the condition for remaining a member is the annual membership payment. We may also accept institutional members who represent associations or networks of creators or writers.
